The Cammisses Go Camping

Back in Late August I took the family on a short camping trip to the lake district, we stayed at the Great Langdale National trust campsite.

The Campsite is located at the head of the awe inspiring Great Langdale Valley with the Langdale Pikes rising up to the sky around you.  It was the ideal place to do some walking and rock climbing.

As we only planned to stay for a few nights we took our new Wynnster Curlew 6 (It sounds like a big tent for the three of us but I would describe it as 4 berth not a 6.)
The tent performed fantastic keeping out all the rain and standing up well to the wind.
The weather was the norm for the lake district (wet) but we did get some walking in and its great when the walk ends at a pub (the Old Dungeon Ghyll)
It will be spring before we can get the tent out again, But we are all looking forward to it.

Holiday In Marrakesh
Just returned from Marrakesh or Marrakech depending on your tongue

The main focal point in Marrakesh is the huge square DJEMAA EL-FNA.
This provides you with one of the worlds greatest spectacles and is in fact a world heritage site.
Although lively at any time it comes into its own at dusk.
Rows upon rows of open food stalls arrive to signal the start of an amazing outdoor festival at night. Acrobats perform their wild tumbles. Cobras sway to the tunes of snake charmers. Henna women entice the lady tourists to have their swirling marks inked into their arms and legs. Herbalists offer powder potions and spices for whatever ails you. Cymbals and drums clash and beat loudly between musicians hands. Bush dentists with molars piled high on their tables extract teeth. The storytellers tell of their wonderful tales under gas lamps.

If you're fed up of  the Rain In Britain, Marrakesh is where you want to be. You will not need a waterproof. Not one drop of rain fell all week.

With temperatures in the 30s I was glad of my Berghaus and Columbia clothing. Breathable baselayers are a vital part of staying comfortable in the hot and humid market place.
