Clothing

Clothing should be appropriate to the conditions.  If you are indoors this might just be a t-shirt and shorts.

If you are climbing outdoors then a sturdy pair of lightweight, quick drying trousers are a good choice.  Jeans are often restrictive and get heavy and cold when wet so should be avoided.

Layers is the key to top.  Take a wicking t-shirt to climb in and a thin fleece in case it gets cold.  A thicker fleece and jacket may be needed for standing around at the top or bottom.  A warm hat is always a good choice.

Although you can climb in trainers you will find your abilities greatly improved with a pair of climbing shoes.  Find a pair that are tight but not uncomfortable.
